Gregory Scott Lewis, 57, of Aurora, departed this life suddenly on March 20, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora. He was born March 11, 1958, in Paris, France, the son of Bobbie Joe and Janice Maurine (Groom) Lewis.

 

On August 5, 1978, he married RaVae Wilhelm in Cameron, and she survives, as well as three sons, Eric of Springfield and Ryan and Taylor of Aurora; his mother, Jan of Aurora; and his sister, Tracey (Gary) Ebersold of Cameron.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob, in 2005.

 

Greg leaves behind a loving extended family of cousins, aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and a sister-in-law.

 

A man of strong faith, strong convictions with a great love for his fellow man, there will never be another like him. A full eulogy was given at the funeral.

 

A memorial service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, was held at 6 p.m., March 26, at First Baptist Church of Aurora. Visitation was held from 4 to 6 p.m.. at the church. Burial was at Alta Vista Cemetery in Alta Vista.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations be made to the Greg Lewis Memorial Fund.
