Gary Franklin Schachte, Jr was a seaman for the United States Navy. Gary was born on September 13, 1975 and was from Valley Lee, Maryland. On July 16, 1997, he died in a non-hostile incident in United States at the age of 22.

Gary is buried in the First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden in San Diego, California.

Gary was a good guy... Funny as hell & always had a skateboard in his hand. I always knew him as "boner" (because of a certain incident involving Mary Dorsey), but he didn't mind the nicknames because he had a great sense of humor. Sadly, he has passed on from this life. Fortunately, he has a son that will live on in his memory...
