Steven Reed Hanson died while serving in the US Army in Vietnam on September 24, 1971. He was 21 years of age.

Steve Hanson was one of the nicest guys I ever knew. I remember him fondly, with great admiration for his strength and conviction in all he did and in his deep desire to serve our country. He was taken from us way too soon. He was a good brother to David and Bruce and his parents were very proud of him. I was proud to have him as my friend.
