"Only the good die young." Isa-sama was the most genuine person that ever graced the halls of ZHS. I remember the time he taught me how to play "Louie, Louie" on the keyboard. What a sweet, sweet soul.Nancie Sameshima (1971)
I'm so sorry to hear that Willie has passed away. Willie (as I knew him) was one of the sweetest young men I had the privilege of knowing. I will always remember him as being a thoughtful, caring, and genuine friend. As most of my memories of high school days have faded 40 years later, I'll never forget Willie's thoughtfulness and ever present smile.
Fred Esch (1969)
Although much belated, the passing recently of Rudy Teshima brings me back to this page. I need to say about Wiley......he was one of the most generous souls I've ever known, with his time, attention, emotional support and with his money. He was active as a Rotarian in Los Angeles and in the Japanese American Community in downtown LA. Always a smile and caring attitude to everyone that encountered him......even the homeless and beggars that approached him. He would ask to hear their story and then given them money, more that what the average bear would give. He is part of the generation of friends that Bob and I grew up with in Japan that includes the gang of Joey Teshima, Rudy Teshima, Jimmy Laurila, Jim Sameshima and others that have preceded us in passing on from this life. RIP Wiley and hope you're gathering with your old buds.
