Rick Masterson died in an automobile accident on November 30, 2001. He is survived by his wife and his son. Rick was a POW, successfully returned in a famous televised return. Below is his information when his aircraft was downed while he was serving in the military.

I remember Rick mostly because we played on the football team. I recall him as being a quiet guy and after looking up his profile in the 1962 yearbook, it comments: "Quiet till you get to know him..." I did not know him well but respected his ability on the field of play.
Rick was a nice-looking, very shy guy, who always gave you the feeling of strength and inner values. Although a year ahead of me in school, he made a big impression on us all, both on the field and in classes. I think he enjoyed the entertainment of the older girls, but it never really got to him, I am sure he is missed by many.
