Carlos M. Nieves passed away on June 16, 1971. He is buried in Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.
Here is a note we received from Ed Groden (c/o '67) regarding Carlos' passing.
"He had only been home from Vietnam for a few months when he was killed in a motorcycle accident sometime in late '70 or early '71. During my tour in Vietnam I took R&R to Camp Zama even though my parents had just left a month before. As we queued up to get on our flight from Saigon I discovered Carlos on the same flight. He had been in Cambodia during our brief incursion there that summer and we spent the whole week together with Jane Thorlin ('68) who was still living in Sagamihara."
