
Fred Boatright passed away on May 24, 2011. He died after a valiant year-long battle with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.
Fred graduated from UCSD with a degree in Biochemistry. He started his career at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, proceeded to Bendix/Allied Signal and ended in retirement from Delta Design as a software engineer.
He was an avid photographer, competitive bicycle racer, mountain biker, distance runner and cowboy action shooter.
Fred is survived by his wife, Karen; his father, Fred; his brother, Michael, of Fernandina Beach, FL; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Sachiko.
