James Albert Mashburn passed away on June 4th as a result of a collision with a pickup truck that pulled out in front of his motorcycle. He was working as an instructor for the FAA in Oklahoma City at the time. He was 55 years of age.
James lived in Cordova, TN from 1999 after moving from Morton, MS. He was a 1974 Honor graduate of Morton High School. After graduation, he became an air traffic controller in Memphis, TN, and was an instructor with the FAA in Oklahoma City until his passing.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John B. Mashburn, in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mashburn, Cordova, TN; parents, Will and Ruby Mashburn of Brandon; two daughters, Shanna Davis and husband Kieran of Wakefield, England; Jamie McNiell and husband Andrew of Cordova, TN; one brother, Frank Mashburn, Chicago, Ill; one sister, Margaret Nelson of Clinton, MS; two grandchildren, Alexandra Davis and Brayden McNiell; one niece, Kim Grantham; two great nieces, Taylor and Averie Grantham; one nephew, Larry Egnor; and two great nephews, Cameron and Calib Egnor.
Visitation services were held at Wolf Funeral Services on June 9th and 10th in Morton, MS. Funeral services were held in the chapel at the Morton Memorial Gardens on June 10th.
