Melody was out riding around with friends and died in a tragic automobile accident on February 28, 1991.  The accident occurred on the golf course road.  She was a sophomore attending Zama High and was a stand-out three-sport athlete at the time.

She is survived by her parents and her sisters, Michelle (c/o '88) and Cheryl (c/o '89).

There is an athletic award named after her, the Melody K. Halloran Memorial Award, given to the star athletes in the Far East military and international high schools.
