I just found out days ago from Mona Meyer Ohya that Yoko had passed away in September.

Kindness and beauty inside and outside are traits I think of when I reflect on my memories of Yoko Toyokawa.  My older brother Tim and Yoko were an item back in the early 70's.  I was proud that my brother dated such a wonderful person who seemed to have everything going for her.  She was so very nice to me whenever I was in her presence and she had a smile that could melt a glacier.  In my opinion, Yoko (and Rose) represented everything that was special about my time in Japan.  Her loss will be felt deeply by all of us who knew her.

Yoko was always a good friend while I was in Japan. She was usually going out with somebody else, notibly Tim Hall who I pal'd around with. I think I was often the third wheel  smiley

One of these photos is from the Teen Club.   The other was taken the day before I left Japan in June 1971 when I stopped by to say goodbye to her.
