Suzanne's obituary has been provided by her sister, Becky Matz:
With both sadness and joy our family announces the sudden death of D. Suzanne Matz age 58. Suzanne was born May 7, 1958 in Dallas Texas. While she was at home (Bremerton, Washington), in the blink of an eye on November 29, 2017 she heard her Savior call her name and she left us to live with her Lord in heaven.
As long as her family is alive she will be remembered by her beloved son Sergeant Jason Switzer of the United States Air Force, whom she was exceptionally proud of, loved and adored with all of her heart, her parents Ronald and Fran Matz, her sister Rebecca Matz all of Bremerton and her brother Joe Matz of Louisiana. As well as many nieces and nephews, her special loves were Kaleb and Tabitha who called her SuSue and adored her.
Suzanne will be remembered for her crazy stunts and her infectious laughter. She graduated from Zama high school Japan. Went to Texas A&M and you know she was a Texas girl! She graduated from Louisiana State University at Monroe with the pharmaceutical degree and practiced until she was disabled. After that she lived in San Miguel de Allande Mexico where she did medical mission work with her parents, Before moving to Bremerton Washington to be near her sister’s family and her parents. Suzanne was a faithful worker at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bremerton Washington where she greatly impacted her church family there. She’ll be missed by all of us until we meet her again in heaven. The Bible says, “He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life” (John 5:24).When there is a death and homecoming of a loved one, we sorrow. But those united with Christ in death are also united with Him in the joy of resurrection
God’s Garden
By Melissa Shreve
God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place
Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be Thine”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home
