Howard Ken Asakura, son of Masaaki and Tomiko Asakura, brother to Irene Asakura Quiroz ('67) and Nora Asakura Lance ('69) and father of Michelle, Shaun, Ken and Katie, passed away peacefully on August 26th, surrounded by his family and friends after a lengthy illness. His best friend, Bob Koba ('69), was also by Howard's bedside during his last moments.
Howard was a great father, brother, son and friend. He will be truly missed by many.

One summer Howie came back to visit his family at Zama. All the senior girls were agog over him and vied for his attention. I have a letter from him that I treasured for years from that summer. R.I.P.
